My top 5 bakes over the year.

Trifle

This bake was a joint effort between me and my dad. We created the trifle for the Queen Elizabeth’s 70th Jubilee. With lots of elements, I don’t quite remember the exact components. However, amaretti biscuits were definitely included and so was a lemon curd. I’m also pretty sure (from the photo ) that there was a lemon Swiss roll too.

Eclairs

These delights went down arguably fast , for they didn’t contain much sugar and most importantly were delightful to taste. Inside, there was a custard filling with whipped cream folded in. The top is the same as the inside presented with a hint of grated chocolate.

Flower birthday cake

I tried attempting the trend “flower cake” It’s a normal cake, but on the outside, a selection of assorted buttercream flowers sit. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m not the biggest fan of buttercream. I just find it a bit too sweet. However, this was the birthday cake of my mum and I really wanted to make it look spectacular for her so I made two batches of buttercream.

Chocolate cake

The classic. A simple chocolate cake coated in chocolate ganache. There wasn’t an occasion for this cake I just felt like baking ( I really enjoy it as you already know)and eating a bit of some sponge!

Valentines day tart

Valentine’s Day 2024 has just passed and this chocolate tart was what we indulged in after dinner. Surprisingly, this was the very first time of me making pastry. However, I didn’t come across any troubles and found it fairly straight forward. The inside is just a basic-also delicious- chocolate ganache and a dusting of cocoa powder.

I’m Pink
